What is a gasket on a refrigerator?

    1. A gasket is a protective lining usually fitted on the refrigerator door to guard against the entry of dust, fungi, and bacteria.
    2. In some refrigerators, the gasket is permanently fixed while in some it is removable for cleaning purposes.
    3. Over time, gaskets get clogged with fungi build-up and bacteria.
    4. For Samsung refrigerators, for example, you can peel off the gasket off the door for cleaning.
