What is a CFC-free Refrigerator?

1. 1. A CFC-free refrigerator is an eco-friendly fridge that does not have chlorofluorocarbons, which had been long used as refrigerants.
   2. These chemicals were initially used as insulation during the cooling process.
   3. However, CFC emission was found to be a major pollutant and contributory factor to the destruction of the ozone layer.
   4. Modern refrigerators use natural refrigerants such as propane which is a naturally occurring hydrocarbon.
   5. Natural coolants do not contain harmful chlorine and fluorine elements.
